The Vermont Sugarmaker’s Association discovered trace elements of a contaminant in the tins they were using, so have decided to discontinue use of the tins until the problem can be rectified. Vermont sugarmakers are committed to producing and selling the purest syrup possible. We buy all of our traditional maple syrup containers from Kedron Sugar Makers, owned and operated by the Kendall family over in South Woodstock. We’ve been doing it for years. Each delivery to the store is freshly put up for us, which means we can guarantee the quality and freshness of the syrup we sell. A note about storing syrup: We recommend the jugs, especially for large purchases, because they can be stored in the freezer, keeping your syrup as fresh as the day it was first opened. The ideal container for your refrigerator is glass, because it is inert, and as such will not impart any foreign flavor to your syrup. Here’s our secret to keeping your syrup fresh. Decant from the jug enough syrup to last you a month or two and put it in a glass jar or bottle. Recap your jug and put it in the freezer. The syrup can be thawed and refrozen countless times without losing any of its flavor and freshness. Our maple syrup is available in the sizes listed below.
